The Science Behind Omnium

Your Body Runs
on Micronutrients.
Most People Are Running on Empty.

This page exists because we believe an informed customer is our best customer. Before we tell you about Omnium, we want to tell you about the nutrients your body needs — what they do, what happens without them, and why timing and form matter more than most people realize.

What Are Micronutrients And Why Do They Matter?

Your body is an incredibly complex system, carrying out trillions of chemical reactions every second to produce energy, repair cells, regulate hormones, defend against infection, and keep everything running smoothly.

None of this happens without micronutrients.

Vitamins and minerals are essential compounds your body cannot produce in sufficient amounts. While macronutrients provide fuel and building blocks, micronutrients act as the catalysts that allow your body’s systems to function. They activate enzymes, regulate gene expression, support immunity, and protect cells from damage.

Think of macronutrients as the raw materials and micronutrients as the machinery that makes the whole system work. Without them, the body doesn’t stop immediately. It simply becomes less efficient over time.

That slow decline often shows up as fatigue, brain fog, poor sleep, slower recovery, and the feeling that you’re not operating at your best.

Did You Know?

Vitamins and minerals serve as cofactors in over 700 enzymatic reactions in the human body — from DNA repair to energy metabolism to neurotransmitter synthesis.

The Two Categories

Vitamins

are organic compounds that regulate metabolism, immune function, and cellular repair. They include fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) that are stored in tissue, and water-soluble vitamins (C and the B family) that must be replenished daily.

Minerals

are inorganic elements — zinc, magnesium, selenium, copper, and others — that support structural functions like bone density, as well as biochemical functions like enzyme activation and electrical signaling in the nervous system.

Severe micronutrient deficiency causes disease. But the more common problem is insufficiency — levels that aren't low enough to cause a clinical diagnosis, but low enough to meaningfully impair how you feel and function every day.

What Happens When You Don't Get Enough?

What Happens When You Don't Get Enough?

Severe micronutrient deficiency causes disease. But the more common problem is insufficiency — levels that aren't low enough to cause a clinical diagnosis, but low enough to meaningfully impair how you feel and function every day.

Persistent Fatigue

B vitamins, iron, magnesium, and CoQ10 are all required for cellular energy production. Insufficient levels leave your mitochondria unable to generate ATP efficiently — no matter how much sleep you get, you feel drained.

Brain Fog & Low Mood

Folate, B12, zinc, and omega-3s are essential for neurotransmitter synthesis and myelin production. Without adequate levels, cognitive sharpness, focus, and emotional regulation all suffer — often written off

as stress or aging.

Weakened Immunity

Vitamins C, D, A, and zinc are among the most critical nutrients for immune defense. Low levels impair the production and function of immune cells, leaving you more susceptible to infection and slower to recover.

Related: Vitamin C · ADEK · Trace Minerals

Bone & Cardiovascular Risk

Vitamin D3 and K2 work together to regulate calcium — ensuring it deposits in bone rather than arteries. Without both, you can have adequate calcium intake and still experience bone loss and arterial calcification simultaneously.

Related: ADEK (D3 + K2)

Poor Sleep & Recovery

Magnesium activates GABA receptors — the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter system responsible for calming the nervous system and enabling deep sleep. Deficiency is one of the most underrecognized contributors to insomnia and poor recovery.

Related: Magnesium Glycinate

Accumulated Cellular Damage

Selenium, vitamin E, vitamin C, and zinc are all critical antioxidants that neutralize free radicals before they damage DNA, proteins, and cell membranes. Long-term insufficiency accelerates biological aging at the cellular level.

Why Timing Changes Everything

Most supplement companies put everything in one pill and call it a multivitamin. The problem: certain nutrients compete for the same absorption pathways. Others require food to be absorbed. Some are stimulating by nature and disrupt sleep when taken at night. Others actively support the repair and recovery processes your body runs during sleep.

Your body operates on a circadian rhythm — a 24-hour biological clock that governs hormone release, metabolism, immune activity, and cellular repair. This rhythm isn't just about sleep and wake cycles. It affects how nutrients are absorbed, transported, and utilized at different times of day.

Splitting your supplements into an AM packet and a PM packet isn't a marketing concept. It's a science-based approach to getting more out of every nutrient — by delivering each one at the moment your body is best equipped to use it.

The Modern Diet Problem

Even people who eat well struggle to meet micronutrient needs through food alone. Soil depletion has reduced the nutrient density of produce by up to 40% over the past 50 years. Stress, alcohol, medications, and gut health issues further impair absorption. Omnium was built to close these gaps — not partially, but completely.

Why Form Matters

Most supplements fail not because of what's in them, but because of the form they use. Cheap, synthetic forms are poorly absorbed — or can't be converted by your body at all. We chose differently at every turn.

// Modal data const modalData = { 'b-complex': { timing: 'AM', name: 'Methyl B-Complex', tagline: 'Energy & Brain Function', svgId: 'b-complex', what: `The B vitamins are a family of eight water-soluble nutrients that work together as the engine of your cellular metabolism. They are the cofactors your mitochondria need to convert the food you eat into ATP — the energy currency every cell in your body runs on. Without sufficient B vitamins, this conversion breaks down, and energy production becomes inefficient at the most fundamental level.`, why: `Most B-complex supplements use cheap, synthetic forms that your body must convert before it can use them. This is a problem for a significant portion of the population: genetic variants in the MTHFR enzyme pathway — present in up to 40% of people — impair this conversion, meaning standard supplements may provide little actual benefit. Omnium's Methyl B-Complex uses only the active, methylated forms of every B vitamin, bypassing conversion entirely. What you take is what your cells get.`, benefits: `B vitamins support cellular energy production, neurotransmitter synthesis (including serotonin and dopamine), myelin sheath integrity for nerve function, homocysteine metabolism (a key cardiovascular risk factor), DNA repair, and adrenal health. Deficiency manifests as fatigue, brain fog, low mood, poor memory, and increased cardiovascular risk.`, ingredients: [ { name: 'Vitamin B1', form: 'Benfotiamine', dose: '25mg · 2083% DV' }, { name: 'Vitamin B2', form: 'Riboflavin-5\'-Phosphate', dose: '20mg · 1538% DV' }, { name: 'Vitamin B3', form: 'Niacinamide', dose: '75mg · 469% DV' }, { name: 'Vitamin B6', form: 'Pyridoxal-5\'-Phosphate', dose: '10mg · 588% DV' }, { name: 'Folate', form: '5-Methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF)', dose: '400mcg DFE · 100% DV' }, { name: 'Vitamin B12', form: 'Methylcobalamin', dose: '500mcg · 20833% DV' }, { name: 'Biotin', form: 'Biotin', dose: '300mcg · 1000% DV' }, { name: 'Pantothenic Acid', form: 'D-Calcium Pantothenate', dose: '50mg · 1000% DV' }, ] }, 'trace-minerals': { timing: 'AM', name: 'Trace Minerals', tagline: 'Thyroid, Immunity & Metabolism', what: `Trace minerals are the inorganic micronutrients your body needs in small but precise amounts to function. Despite the modest quantities required, they are involved in hundreds of enzymatic reactions — governing everything from thyroid hormone production and immune cell activity to blood sugar regulation, wound healing, and DNA synthesis. They are called "trace" not because they're unimportant, but because only trace amounts are needed — yet those amounts are non-negotiable.`, why: `The form of a mineral determines whether your body can actually absorb and use it. Most supplement companies use cheap oxide or carbonate forms because they're inexpensive to manufacture. The problem: these forms are poorly absorbed, often causing GI upset, and much of the dose passes through unused. Omnium uses Albion®-chelated minerals — the industry gold standard — where each mineral is bound to amino acids, mimicking the way minerals are found in food. The result is dramatically superior absorption with none of the digestive side effects.`, benefits: `Zinc supports immune function, testosterone production, wound healing, taste and smell, and skin integrity. Selenium activates glutathione peroxidase — the body's master antioxidant enzyme — and is essential for thyroid hormone conversion. Chromium supports insulin sensitivity and blood glucose regulation. Copper, manganese, molybdenum, iodine, boron, vanadium, and silica each play critical and underappreciated roles in metabolism, bone density, connective tissue, and enzymatic function.`, ingredients: [ { name: 'Iodine', form: 'Potassium Iodide', dose: '200mcg · 133% DV' }, { name: 'Zinc', form: 'Albion® Bisglycinate Chelate', dose: '30mg · 273% DV' }, { name: 'Selenium', form: 'L-Selenomethionine', dose: '200mcg · 364% DV' }, { name: 'Copper', form: 'Albion® Bisglycinate Chelate', dose: '2mg · 222% DV' }, { name: 'Manganese', form: 'Albion® Bisglycinate Chelate', dose: '4mg · 174% DV' }, { name: 'Chromium', form: 'Chromium Polynicotinate', dose: '200mcg · 571% DV' }, { name: 'Molybdenum', form: 'Albion® Glycinate Chelate', dose: '250mcg · 556% DV' }, { name: 'Potassium', form: 'Potassium Chloride', dose: '100mg · 2% DV' }, { name: 'Boron', form: 'Boron Citrate', dose: '200mcg' }, { name: 'Vanadium', form: 'Bisglycinate Oxovanadium', dose: '150mcg' }, { name: 'Silica', form: 'Horsetail (Equisetum arvense)', dose: '100mcg' }, ] }, 'vitamin-c': { timing: 'AM', name: 'Vitamin C 1000mg', tagline: 'Immune Defense & Antioxidant', what: `Vitamin C is one of the most extensively studied nutrients in human health. It is a water-soluble vitamin that plays a central role in immune function, collagen synthesis, adrenal hormone production, iron absorption, and antioxidant defense. Because the body cannot produce or store it, vitamin C must be replenished daily — and the dose matters significantly.`, why: `At 1000mg, Omnium's Vitamin C delivers more than 10 times the recommended daily value — and this is intentional. Research consistently shows that the immune and antioxidant benefits of vitamin C are dose-dependent: the effects seen at 60–90mg (the standard RDA, set merely to prevent scurvy) are not the same as those seen at 500mg to 1000mg. Under physiological stress — illness, intense exercise, high pollution exposure — the body's demand for vitamin C increases dramatically. A 1000mg dose ensures you have adequate levels precisely when you need them most.`, benefits: `Vitamin C stimulates the production and function of white blood cells, including neutrophils and lymphocytes. It is required for the synthesis of collagen — the structural protein in skin, tendons, cartilage, and blood vessels. It supports adrenal function by enabling cortisol synthesis. As a potent antioxidant, it neutralizes free radicals that would otherwise damage DNA and cell membranes. It also enhances the absorption of non-heme iron from plant sources and regenerates other antioxidants like Vitamin E.`, ingredients: [ { name: 'Vitamin C', form: 'Ascorbic Acid', dose: '1000mg · 1111% DV' }, ] }, 'adek': { timing: 'AM', name: 'ADEK Vitamins', tagline: 'The Fat-Soluble Foundation', what: `Vitamins A, D, E, and K are the fat-soluble vitamins — a group that is structurally and functionally distinct from the water-soluble B and C vitamins. Because they dissolve in fat rather than water, they are stored in body tissue and require dietary fat for absorption. They also work synergistically: vitamins D and K2, in particular, must be taken together to function safely and effectively. These four vitamins collectively govern immune programming, bone health, cardiovascular integrity, vision, skin health, and cellular protection.`, why: `Deficiency in one or more fat-soluble vitamins is remarkably common, even among people with otherwise good diets. Vitamin D deficiency affects an estimated 40% of adults globally. Most people get adequate Vitamin A from diet but insufficient amounts of the retinol form required for immune function. K2 — distinct from the K1 found in leafy greens — is almost absent from modern diets. Omnium's ADEK formula uses the most bioavailable forms of all four, including both MK-4 and MK-7 forms of K2 for complete coverage.`, benefits: `Vitamin A (as retinol) supports vision, skin barrier integrity, immune cell differentiation, and reproductive health. Vitamin D3 regulates calcium absorption, immune system programming, mood, and hundreds of genes. Vitamin E (as d-Alpha Tocopherol) is a powerful lipid-soluble antioxidant that protects cell membranes. Vitamin K2 activates the proteins that direct calcium into bones and away from arteries — making it essential for both skeletal and cardiovascular health.`, ingredients: [ { name: 'Vitamin A', form: 'Retinyl Acetate', dose: '600mcg RAE · 67% DV' }, { name: 'Vitamin D3', form: 'Cholecalciferol', dose: '125mcg (5000 IU) · 625% DV' }, { name: 'Vitamin E', form: 'd-Alpha Tocopherol Succinate', dose: '33.5mg · 223% DV' }, { name: 'Vitamin K2 MK-4', form: 'Menaquinone-4', dose: '1000mcg' }, { name: 'Vitamin K2 MK-7', form: 'Menaquinone-7', dose: '100mcg' }, ] }, 'omega3': { timing: 'PM', name: 'Omega-3 EPA/DHA', tagline: 'Brain, Heart & Inflammation', what: `Omega-3 fatty acids are essential polyunsaturated fats — "essential" meaning your body cannot synthesize them, so they must come from diet or supplementation. The two most critical forms are EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), both derived from marine sources. EPA primarily governs inflammation regulation; DHA is a structural component of brain tissue, making up approximately 15% of total brain fatty acids and the majority of the fatty acids in the retina.`, why: `The overwhelming majority of omega-3 supplements on the market use ethyl ester form — a semi-synthetic form created during the concentration process. Ethyl esters are poorly absorbed compared to the triglyceride form found naturally in fish. Omnium uses a triglyceride-form omega-3 that is purified and concentrated to over 90% triglyceride omega-3, sourced from sustainably harvested anchovies, sardines, and mackerel. This is the form your body recognizes and absorbs most efficiently — delivering meaningfully more EPA and DHA per dose.`, benefits: `Omega-3s reduce systemic inflammation, lower triglycerides, support healthy blood pressure, and reduce platelet aggregation. DHA is required for brain cell membrane fluidity and synaptic signaling — directly affecting cognitive function, memory, and mood. EPA modulates the eicosanoid pathway, the biochemical system that governs inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses throughout the body. Clinical research consistently associates adequate omega-3 intake with reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, depression, and cognitive decline.`, ingredients: [ { name: 'Total Omega-3', form: 'as Triglycerides', dose: '750mg' }, { name: 'EPA', form: 'Eicosapentaenoic Acid', dose: '400mg' }, { name: 'DHA', form: 'Docosahexaenoic Acid', dose: '300mg' }, { name: 'Other Omega-3', form: 'Fatty Acids', dose: '50mg' }, ] }, 'chlorella': { timing: 'PM', name: 'Organic Chlorella', tagline: 'Detox & Cellular Nourishment', what: `Chlorella is a single-celled freshwater green algae with one of the most complete nutritional profiles of any organism on earth. It is exceptionally dense in chlorophyll, complete protein (containing all essential amino acids), vitamins, minerals, and a unique compound called Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF) — a nucleus extract rich in nucleic acids that supports cellular repair and regeneration. Chlorella has been the subject of significant research for its role in heavy metal chelation and toxin elimination.`, why: `Not all chlorella is created equal. Chlorella's cell wall is rigid and indigestible in its natural state — the nutrients inside are simply inaccessible unless the cell wall is broken open. Omnium uses organic broken-cell chlorella, processed using a method that cracks the cell wall while preserving the nutritional content inside. This is the only form of chlorella that allows your body to absorb the chlorophyll, protein, and detoxification compounds it contains. Whole-cell chlorella, used by most supplement companies, passes largely undigested.`, benefits: `Chlorella binds to heavy metals including mercury, lead, and cadmium in the gut, preventing their reabsorption and supporting their elimination. Its high chlorophyll content supports liver detoxification pathways and alkalizes the body. Chlorella is a complete protein source and contains meaningful amounts of B12 (in a form that may support vegans), iron, zinc, and magnesium. Taken in the evening, it works synergistically with the body's overnight detoxification processes.`, ingredients: [ { name: 'Organic Broken Cell Chlorella', form: 'Chlorella vulgaris', dose: '500mg' }, ] }, 'magnesium': { timing: 'PM', name: 'Magnesium Glycinate', tagline: 'Sleep, Recovery & Calm', what: `Magnesium is involved in more than 300 enzymatic reactions in the human body — more than almost any other mineral. It is required for ATP synthesis, DNA replication, protein production, muscle contraction and relaxation, nerve transmission, blood glucose regulation, and bone formation. It is also the primary mineral cofactor for the GABA neurotransmitter system — the brain's main inhibitory pathway, responsible for inducing the calm and relaxation necessary for sleep. Despite its critical importance, an estimated 50% of Americans consume less than the recommended daily amount.`, why: `Magnesium oxide — the form found in most supplements and cheap multivitamins — has an absorption rate of around 4%. It is used because it contains a high percentage of elemental magnesium by weight, making label claims look impressive. But if it doesn't absorb, it doesn't work. Magnesium glycinate is magnesium bound to the amino acid glycine, which significantly enhances intestinal absorption and eliminates the laxative effect common with oxide and citrate forms. Glycine itself is a calming amino acid that works synergistically with magnesium to support sleep and nervous system recovery.`, benefits: `Magnesium glycinate supports deep, restorative sleep by activating GABA receptors and reducing cortisol. It relaxes muscle tissue, making it valuable for athletes and anyone experiencing tension or cramps. It supports healthy blood pressure by relaxing vascular smooth muscle. It reduces the physiological response to stress, improves insulin sensitivity, and is one of the most evidence-supported supplements for anxiety and mood. Taken consistently in the evening, it is one of the most impactful additions to a supplement regimen.`, ingredients: [ { name: 'Magnesium', form: 'Magnesium Glycinate (20% Magnesium)', dose: '133mg · 32% DV' }, ] }, }; // SVG graphics map const svgGraphics = { 'b-complex': `
